Raka Fleet is a fleet of sentient warships, assault shuttle “arrowheads” and drone warriors located in the Reeh Empire. See also Table of Contents

Deepynine-Based Fleet[]

Raka Fleet is based on deepynine tech the inhuman Narsid Reeh tortured out of Nia, deepynine queen, some thousands of years ago. It is a fleet of sentient warships, assault shuttle “arrowheads” and drone warriors, sentient, self-aware, with VR uplink ability. The fleet is rather feared by the Reeh Empire, even though they built it, because it is not based on familiar ceephay tech, so they mainly leave it alone at the Kalax Facility. It is only to be used in an emergency.

Tan, Alo Family[]

Raka ships and the entire Kalax Facility have been tended for millennia by Alo from a specific family /genetic line with extra-strong neural implant capacity, including capacity for VR uplinks. They are known as Raka Family, or the Family.

Tan is an alo teenager in Reeh space at the Raka Fleet Yard. Part of Raka family. He flees when battle begins and joins Phoenix Crew. He speaks Tikitch and feels superior to humans with his neural implants. Tan spends much time living in a virtual reality (VR) world. (Ceephay Queen)

Join w Styx[]

At the Kalax Facility the sentient deepynine-based Raka Fleet await orders that never come. They are parked deep in reeh space, more than one hundred sentient warships, stagnating in space, of no use.

They decide to allow Styx to reprogram them in return for promised upgrades and new work, she says.

Raka Arrowheads[]

AI Assault Shuttles. At last count, more than 40 of them.

Styx, in response to Major Thakur, instructed one of them to convey Phoenix Company on missions. It is dubbed AR-1, to replace PH-3, which Styx probably crashed (Jersey almost died). Shali, the ceephay diplomat, can fly it. See Ceephay section of Machine Race page.

Fletch: a flight group[]

“First Fletch, as Phoenix crew had taken to calling them, as 'squadron' seemed an inappropriately human name to describe the AI warships of Raka Fleet.”

Raka Drones[]

Raka drones were a little different from Peanut or Wowser, Erik noted -- the same twin shoulder-cannon layout, and vibro-blade claws, but the leg configuration was different, and they seemed to not move so smoothly. As though somehow, in the transition of technologies from Drysine and Deepynine Empires to the Nia-inspired offshoot that Raka represented, something had been lost. Chion had done a lot of that translation, to turn Nia's technology into various things under Narsid Reeh instruction, of which Raka had been the most violent. Erik wondered if she'd held something back from the Narsid Reeh on purpose. (H- 29)

Missions, Events[]

Styx and Raka Fleet and Phoenix Company, along with various empire rebels, must fight fiercely to gain access to the Ceephay queen, Chion, at Gachibari Antimatter Superconducting Facility in the Tridez System of the Reeh Empire. See book 8, Ceephay Queen.
